I needed some updated portraits of the kiddos to hang in our new house so I took advantage of my equipment being out.
Here's my fave of Landon. Such the handsome little man!
And my fave of the two of them despite her collar being up! Oh well, can't have perfection all of the time!

Our trip to the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler
Sunday of our trip to Tyler we visited the Caldwell Zoo. It's a really nice zoo, not too big. It was another beautiful day. The kids seem to really enjoy the animals.
These hold a dear place in my heart. We used to have macaws. They are such beautiful birds.
Here's Toucan Sam or maybe not Sam but a Toucan anyway. I love how beautiful their beaks are. This pic was taken through glass.
Awwww, look at the baby giraffe! I was so amazed at how the pic turned out with no flash as the room was very dark.
Here's daddy hanging out!
I got Mema and Papa Johnny to stop long enough for a snapshot.
Here's the Zebra's enjoying the shade.
Here's the elephants. We weren't able to get too close. It was mating season for the male and he wasn't happy!!
Landon was excited to see the penguins.
I don't think they were too happy to see him!! Maybe they haven't seen Happy Feet! Another great shot with no flash!
Here's Mr. Photogenic. He's actually smiling big enough to show his gap in this pic!! That's a rarity!
Here's our happy group minus me. Always the photographer never the subject!
This frog was posing for me!! He's so cute!
This zoo has an enclosure with free flying parakeets and cockatiels and one cockatoo. You can buy a popsicle stick with seed stuck to it to entice the birds to come see you. It's crazy in there! Here's Landon with his little buddy!
Kylie was riding on Mema's shoulders for the bird enclosure.
Here's Kylie trying to grab a cockatiel! I think he had other ideas!! He's the blur that you see!
I hope you enjoyed our visit as much as we did!

Choo-Choo, Chug-a-chug-a, Chug-a-chuga...
We went on a nice relaxing trip this last weekend to Tyler and rode the Texas State Railroad in Rusk, TX. It took us to Palestine, TX and back to Rusk. It was the perfect weather for it--nice cool breeze and sunshine. WARNING: Lots of pix!
Here's Landon standing out near the steam engine before we boarded.
Here he is with Daddy.
We just got boarded and everyone wants pix!! Notice who they aren't looking at!! They think I'm the enemy! LOL!!
Mema and Landon watching out the window.
Kylie found a nice comfy seat with her Papa Johnny!!
Landon and Mema again.
Kylie didn't like the whistle too much. When it blew and blew, she laid her head down on Mema's shoulder and kept it there. The rocking of the train put her to sleep and she slept most of the way to Palestine.
Here we are passing the Palestine train.
Uh-oh, a new conductor is taking over!! One of the railway workers gave Landon his hat for the picture.
Here is one of the pretty views we saw.
Kylie awake and enjoying the ride.
Just as everyone was unboarding for lunch, the kids found an inch worm. Kylie was very amused!
After lunch I took some pix of Landon by the train.
Here was a view on the way back to Rusk. Lots of Indian Paint Brushes--how beautiful!
Well, that's all folks!!
